Customer portal access for StudioDock users

StudioDock users with system roles can now also use customer portal and public booking flows with the same email, while customer-only portal accounts remain blocked from studio admin access.

What changed

Customer portal access now follows the authenticated email identity instead of requiring the global user role to be CUSTOMER. Freelancers, managers, tenant admins, and super admins can use portal and public booking flows with the same email address they use for StudioDock.

Admin access still requires a StudioDock system role through the admin session guard, so customer-only portal users cannot enter the studio admin area.

Why this matters

  • Studios can invite collaborators without breaking those people’s customer portal access.
  • Owners and super admins can test public booking and portal flows using their own account email.
  • Customer-only magic-link users stay limited to customer-facing surfaces.
